Learn how to compost with Nebraska Extension-Lancaster County Master Gardeners at 1:30 or 2:30 PM; Hear a children’s story in the corn crib at 1:30 or 2:30 PM; Join a scavenger hunt; Create window decals to protect birds and enjoy a nature-based art exhibit by Keith D. Buswell in the Cat House. Be part of nature by joining a “Forest Bathing" walk at 2 PM; Get grounded with Yoga with a UNL Campus Recreation Instructor at 1:00-1:45 PM. ($5 Donation for yoga-mats provided)

Celebrate Nebraska Bird Month and World Migratory Bird Day. Join the Prairie Pines Partners in the arboretum with fun activities and learn how to create healthy habitats for birds. Have a close encounter with birds from the Raptor Conservation Alliance at 2 and 3 PM; take a bird watching walk at 1:00 or 2:30 PM; Learn funny “Bird Brain” expressions and hear a children’s story about birds in the corn crib at 1:15 or 1:45 PM.

It was another hot one on the trails at the July, 2024 Run Four the Pines! Thank you to those who attended the four-mile run/walk and a one-mile youth run. Run proceeds help fund the future link to connect Prairie Pines Nature Preserve to the Lincoln Trail System.
