Join the Prairie Pines Partners in the arboretum with fun activities all about birds! Nebraska is important habitat for year-around birds and as a stop-over for migrating birds. Birds have been around for a long time and we want to share the world with them forever! There are many wildlife, especially birds that are under threat due to habitat destruction and climate change. Learning more about them helps to understand how we can all share the ecosystem.

Join us OUTSIDE at Prairie Pines Nature Preserve for a story time featuring music, movement and more in the arboretum. You are welcome to bring blankets for more comfortable seating. After story time, you are invited to explore the trails and Nature Ninja course. Bring your lunch for a picnic! Storytimes are geared toward children ages 5 and under but all ages are welcome. Admission is free!

Run 4 The Pines - Prairie Pines Nature Preserve

Prairie Pines Nature Preserve “Run Four the Pines”

Registration Required

Bring friends and family to the annual cross-country style run on Prairie Pines trails. There is a four- mile run/walk and a one-mile youth run. The run is followed by an afterparty in the arboretum with music, food and brew. Proceeds go to linking Prairie Pines to the Lincoln trails system.

Sponsored by the Prairie Pines Partners and the Lincoln Track Club with supporters Lincoln Running Company, Pittinger & Anderson Investments, Union Bank, Eagle Printing, Ink Alley, Piedmontese, the Mercado and Casa Boniva.
